I graduate from my undergraduate university in less than a month! Ah! Haven't been doing much art lately, and I apologize for that. I'm getting a little busy with school & work. Over the summer when I no longer have homework, I'll be drawing more consistently. I have made the decision to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Law in the fall and couldn't be more excited to start fulfilling my dreams! In the fall I will be challenged like never before, and I doubt I will be drawing much at all. BUT I intend to do everything I can to keep up with my hobby.

Well, I have one more semester in my undergraduate college career and the future is fast approaching. I have known for a while now that I want to be a lawyer. It is difficult to describe how I have come to that conclusion, but I know that's my "calling". It's been such a refreshing experience to have purpose in life. The uncertainties of life scare me more than anything in the physical realm so it has been liberating to narrow in on my career. I've always been torn between so many talents & life desires and this glimpse of certainty has actually made me a better artist. Sometimes I felt as if I needed to practice-- I needed to draw as a fail-safe for a failing business career. But I don't feel that way at all any more! Knowing what career I'm meant to have has allowed me to be set free by art. I can do it now out of pure enjoyment. I have been improving for myself, not for anyone else.

I am now more certain than ever that the law is my calling, as I received acceptance from two of the four schools I applied to this week: UMKC & KU! It will be bitter sweet to leave the school that now feels like home in May, but I couldn't be more excited about my legal career and future.

I am also excited to see how much more I can improve with my art in the next years! I am a lot less discouraged by those around me who are improving at an accelerated pace. I am truly satisified with my personal art journey and have enjoyed seeing myself grow. I try to take into consideration that this is my hobby and I am doing the best with the free time I do have for it. I just did a Draw Again Challenge and am very encouraged by the progress I've made: Imagine if I had given up on art at 16!

Which means more time for art, yay!
I've done a lot of sketching trying to perfect human form and my basic technique. It seems I can copy almost anything I see but the point of my sketches have been to create from what I don't see... Not much worth uploading for now hah
I did just uploaded my first digital painting since April... (I'll admit I haven't done as much digital because my computer is not as easy to use as the Mac lab at school ) and I can tell, hopefully you can too, that I am making improvements which is my ultimate goal!!

I just had my 21st birthday last week, and it makes me feel like I should've accomplished more by now. As you age people expect you to be good at what you 'do' so I'm trying to be my best while I'm still 'young'... Because it's more extraordinary.
But still, improvement is improvement & I am still proud of coming as far as I have from making snowmen people in 1st grade

I have to apologize again, to all my followers....
I have had a very full class schedule this year! Taking 18 hours of school & working 18 hours a week definitely keeps me busy, so unfortunately I haven't been doing as much art as I'd like.
I went through my flash drive & uploaded a lot of projects from my design class last semester & completed one more digital painting, so hopefully this will keep you satisfied for now

I'm always trying to find time for art, but I admit I need to work harder!

I've been updating my Deviant art a lot this year, just added another round of paintings, drawings, and a digital art piece!
Lately i've been in a painting stage, but just worked on a digital piece & try to continue drawing as well. I think drawing faces definitely helps when it comes to painting portraits!
Practice, practice, practice!

I'll try to stay more updated. I seem to get lazy & just upload several at once, sorry!
